Amber l. Mied
Attorney at Law
Amber L. Mied is a shareholder with Mied Law Group, P.C. Admitted to practice law in Arizona and California, she is an aggressive domestic relations litigator. Ms. Mied consults with parents and advocates for parental rights in conflictual custody litigation, frequently involving complex psychological issues, child abuse and issues of addiction.
Ms. Mied has been engaged in the private practice of law since 1997. In addition to litigation, the Firm has an active private mediation practice which permits litigants to step out of the litigation process and strive toward negotiated-for-agreements between themselves. Ms. Mied has extensive mediation training and is a graduate of Pepperdine University School of Law's internationally recognized Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, ranked the #1 dispute resolution program in the country in 2008 by U.S. News and World Reports. Additionally, in 2008 she was appointed a Judge Pro Tempore in Maricopa County, Arizona.
Ms. Mied has been recognized as one of the Valley's 'Top 40 Under 40' entrepreneurs and has provided legal analysis in both broadcast and print media. She is a frequent lecturer in the area of domestic relations having sat as a panelist most recently in programs entitled Alternative Dispute Resolution for Families: In and Out of the Courtroom, Litigation Ethics and Secrets of Success: Management of a Small to Mid-Size Professional Practice.
Ms. Mied is active in multiple professional organizations, including the Maricopa County Bar Association where she serves as a committee chairperson. She was selected to sit on the State Bar Task Force dedicated to access to justice. She is an active member in the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the premier national organization for family law professionals dedicated to improving the lives of children and families through the resolution of family conflict.
When away from the practice, Ms. Mied is a fitness enthusiast who enjoys long distance running and triathlons. She is an avid Los Angeles Lakers fan and is a hands-on parent to rescued cats, Barkley and Winston.
Maria E. Perez
Office Manager/Paralegal
Ms. Perez has been with Mied Law Group, P.C. since its genesis in November 2001. As the Firm's office manager and lead paralegal, Ms. Perez's commitment to excellence in client relations and work product has contributed appreciably to the Firm's success.
Ms. Perez has gained considerable legal experience throughout her career by working for some of the Valley's most recognized law firms which have contributed to her professional development. Ms. Perez has also broadened her legal prowess by working in the United Kingdom. Prior to joining Mied Law Group, P.C., Ms. Perez worked together with Ms. Mied for a major Phoenix law firm where they developed their joint commitment to excellence in professional quality and client relations which form the basis of the Firm's practice today.
Ms. Perez regularly assists Ms. Mied both inside and outside the courtroom with the preparation for and presentation of litigated matters to the court. She also continues her professional development by participating in ongoing continuing legal education and is a member of the Maricopa County Bar Association.
Ms. Perez attended Arizona State University earning a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Organizational Studies.
When away from the practice, Ms. Perez enjoys travel, reading and snow skiing. She is an enthusiastic sports fan and animal lover.
